Everyone Has a Family Tree.

Taylor Sam’s became a twinkle in Executive Chef, Scott Spivak’s eye in 2006, when he and his wife Dawn gave birth to a dream they named Sixth Avenue Bistro.  They were in Toms River, NJ at the time and quickly watched young SAB as it grew into the local community hotspot for all to enjoy their unique flair on comfort cuisine.  When most youngsters are just learning to walk, Sixth Avenue Bistro was up and running, having been voted, within it’s first year, one of the best fine dining rests in Ocean County in 2007 by The Asbury Park Press.  It was evident that young SAB was destined for even greater things and eventually grew to focus solely on catering to it’s surrounding community and beyond.

The Brand Is Established.

With the catering division in full effect, Taylor Sam’s was born in Brick NJ in 2013, with the same dream to expand their family in a new community. Chef Scott’s and Dawn’s goal has always been to offer a great breakfast and lunch experience for the local residents and visitors to the Jersey Shore. With the creation of an eclectic and homestyle menu featuring “scratch cooking”, young Taylor Sam’s was groomed to harbor the same quality ingredients, personal service and values that Scott and Dawn had always offered the extended family that graced their doors.

It Doesn’t End Here.

As proud parents of a growing phenomenon in authentic homestyle cooking, it was evident that Chef Scott and his wife Dawn could not keep this diamond in the rough confined to such a small space.

In late 2020, Taylor Sam’s moved to a much bigger location right down the road, but kept the same authentic feel that keeps our loyal customers coming back for more every morning!

With our small business constantly improving every day, we’re always keeping our eye on more locations in the future–but no matter what, we’ll always be an extension of our own kitchen, and a place to come home to for a creatively scrumptious meal with a warm smile, that won’t break the bank!

So, by now we are hoping you get how we feel about our patrons who grace our tables daily.  Well, you can only imagine how we feel about the people we get to work with every day.  From time to time we’ll feel the need to throw a spotlight on some of those loyal team members we rely upon.

MEET Dan

Server and All Around Nice Guy!

If there’s ever a guy you want to bring you some coffee and/or a warm meal, it’s Dan!  Mostly because he serves it all with a smile and his “where ya been” kind of persona.  Dan’s been with us, in the Brick location, from pretty much day one.  He truly IS family, having married his sweetheart, Jess, and our cousin!  But hey, there’s no nepotism here…it’s evident that Dan truly cares about the friends and family that come through our doors.  When he’s not making one of the Taylor Sam locals feel welcome, Dan enjoys working with his clients , as a Personal Trainer.  No WONDER he’s so good with people!  Evenings are spent with his beautiful bride and two children. Danara, age 9 and the newest addition to the family, Frances, 6 months.
